Right... earlier today SW posted on Facebook asking people for tips for holidays!
Most of the 'tips' were along the lines of 'enjoy yourself' and 'forget the diet', which is fine for some people, but there were not enough genuine supportive tips for my liking!
Last night I went to Nandos with the girls. Their menu is very surprisingly Slimming World Friendly and Slimming World list syn values on their app for most menu items. I went for Butterfly Chicken Breast which is 2 breasts with the skin on. I chose Plain, but regardless of the marinade you choose it is still the same syns. I removed the skin, but I still counted the 3 syns it says on the Slimming World app. I'd say having researched the menu and syns that Butterfly Chicken is the best option to go for. I chose a salad and corn on the cob as my 2 sides. Counting the corn as syn free because I didn't put the butter on. The butter comes separate and sealed so you can make that choice, which is great. My friend chose the same as me, but she had the regular rice which is 2.5 syns. A good tip that was offered to me is to take your Healthy Extra B pitta with you and add it to your meal to save on syns. Today I went to Harvester for my little person's 1st Birthday. I ordered the Chargrilled Chicken Skewer, I asked for no chips and a grilled pepper. They were more than accommodating when I told them I didn't want the carbs. I got myself a large salad bowl from the Salad Bar, which I added to my plate when it came out. Don't be afraid to ask for an alternative if the item on the menu isn't quite what you want. Choose grilled meats. Avoid the coated or deep fried foods which have countless syns, check the menu for the calorie value of sauces to get an idea on the syns using an estimate or 20 cals = 1 syn, lastly fill up on the speed foods at the salad bar.If you are following Extra Easy you can choose the jacket potato or rice with your meal. Harvester is my fave place to go at the moment. Not only is it Slimming World friendly, but I can choose what salad I like and their chicken is amazing.Read more
I ordered a couple of seafood dishes while out at The Shoeburyness Hotel yesterday. The chef was very accommodating and cooked my food without oil. I had scallops with balsamic vinegar and king prawns with garlic. As always with this restaurant the food was amazing.Read more
