How to boil an egg

Now forgive me. This could be a pointless post, but I'm sure people do still search for 'how to boil an egg' so I'm going to do a Delia Smith and tell you all how I do it.

I've become somewhat of an expert on eggs since following Slimming World as they are part of my daily diet (great protein). Prior to this the timing always confused me and I'd always get it wrong.

So... here goes!

1. Place the eggs in enough cold water to fully cover them.
2. Bring to the boil.
3. When water starts boiling set the timer for 6 minutes (for a small to medium egg)
4. After 6 minutes remove the pan from the heat. Tip away the hot water and replace with cold water to cool the eggs.
5. Crack the shells with a spoon by hitting the egg with the back of the spoon all over until all cracked. The shell will just slide off easily.
6. Serve
